Huub Jaspers specializes in security and defense issues. Since 1996 he works for the radio program Argos, since 2008 as deputy editor-in-chief.He also works for television. Together with Bart Nijpels he made the 60 minute documentary ‘Why Srebrenica had to fall’, broadcasted prime time on 29 June 2015 on Dutch public television NPO 2.Jaspers frequently collaborates with German media, mainly newspapers and television. He also cooperates with fellow journalists from other countries in international research projects. He published Dutch, German and English book contributions.Jaspers received a number of awards for his work: Journalist for Peace (2010), De Tegel (2007), De Loep (2006), World Audio Festival Award (2007 and 2008) and Rooie Reus Prijs (2002). In addition he got a series of prize nominations. Jaspers was one of the researchers of a German television report, broadcasted by Monitor (WDR) in 2009, about an extrajudicial execution of eleven prisoner in the Dutch ISAF area of responsibility in Afghanistan. This report was awarded in December 2010 with the ‘German Human Rights Film Award’. The Argos radio broadcast about this war crime was nominated in April 2010 for ‘De Tegel’.
