Jón Bjarki Magnússon is an Icelandic writer and journalist, currently based in Berlin, Germany. He has written for DV, Stundin, The Reykjavik Grapevine and worked on research with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). Jón Bjarki and his colleague, Jóhann Páll Jóhannsson, were awarded The Investigative Journalists of the Year 2013 and The Journalists of the Year 2014 by The Journalist Association of Iceland, for their coverage of the poor treatment of asylum-seekers in their home country and “the leaked memo case” which led to the resignation of the Icelandic Minister of Interior. Jón Bjarki holds a Bachelor degree in Creative Writing from the University of Iceland.
