Leonida Reitano (Chairman, Association of Investigative Journalism) Media Studies PhD and McLuhan Fellow since February 2003. Reitano set up the first Investigative Journalism Master Degree held in Italy at the University of Urbino. He has been the Chairman of the Italian Association of Investigative Journalism (AGI) since 2007, the first of its kind founded in Italy (http://www.giornalismoinvestigativo.eu/).
Reitano carries out investigative journalism research and teaching. At AGI, he has carried out long and short term investigative journalism courses, with his students achieving impactful results in the field. He works on national and international investigations, among them “Toxic Europe”, winner of the Best International Organised Crime Report Award 2011; and “Land Grabbing in Senegal” with Lorenzo Bagnoli (IRPI). He's a most sought-after Internet Researcher (OSINT), author of the first Italian handbook on Open Source Intelligence for Journalists. He's currently working on a handbook on Personal Digital Security and Cryptography for Journalists.
