Journalist & filmmaker
Stefano Liberti is an award-winning journalist, documentary-maker and film director specialized in international migrations and global food markets. He has directed the documentary L'inferno dei bimbi stregoni (winner of the 2010 Premio L'Anello Debole), co-directed the award-winning film Mare chiuso (2012) and the film Container 158 (2013). He is the author of the books: A sud di Lampedusa. Cinque anni di viaggi sulle rotte dei migranti (2008) and Land grabbing. Journey in the new colonialism (Verso book, 2013). He has recently developed the multimedia productions "The Dark side of the Italian tomato" (Al Jazeera, Radio France Internationale, El Pais, Internazionale) and the up-coming "Fish for cheap".
